2018 Race Ambassador
I was a late comer into the sport of cycling starting in 2011 at the ripe age of 38 years old. I’m a mom of 2 gorgeous girls (Cheyenne and Alea), a wife and very happily married to the man behind my sport, my husband and best friend Neville. Without my family team behind me, the past 6 years competitive racing wouldn’t have been possible or successful. The commitment, dedication and time is the receipt to success.
I’ve won numerous races over the past 6 years, and I still love riding my bike, however 2018 will be filled with new adventures and challengers!
It’s my time, my space and most of all keeps me sane. I don’t have to worry about anything, just think about the next kilometre or next adventure!
“It only takes you and your goals to reach your dreams”
A Few Titles:
2013 – Mountain Bike Master Cross Country World Champion (SA)
2014 – 2nd Mountain Bike Master Cross Country World Champs (Norway)
2012 – 2017 – KZN Cross Country Mountain bike Champion
2012 – 2014/2017 – SA Cross Country Mountain bike Champion
2017 – SA Marathon Mountain Bike Champion
2012/2017 – ROAG Series Winner
2018 – KZN and Time Trial Road Champion
AND Winner of Numerous 1 day classics and marathons events throughout the years. Too many to mention.
2017 was a whirlwind racing season like every other year, however, I managed to bag the elusive double in off road cycling, claiming both SA Marathon and SA Cross Country titles, making me the top veteran lady mountain biker in SA.
My plans going forward for 2018, is to train as I do, ride my bike and have fun. To try new things and focus more time with my family!
I’m super excited to announce that I am the Race Ambassador for the new MTB Stage race The Midlands. Register/ Start / Finish all from Howick High School 29 June – 01 July. Ride along the picturesque single tracks and district roads with the wonderful views of the Nelson Mandela Monument, Midmar Dam, Albert Falls and Karkloof falls.
